Thirteen Republicans joined Democrats, calling for stronger privacy protections and a single, bipartisan package, especially to block a U.S. Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). The stalled bills include: ?? GENIUS Act: Stablecoin standards ?? CLARITY Act: Defines SEC/CFTC roles ?? Anti-CBDC Act: Prohibits a U.S. CBDC The vote caused Bitcoin to dip below $117,000 and shook crypto markets, but House leaders signaled it’s a delay, not a defeat. Another vote could come soon as negotiations continue. Leaders like Trump, Rep. Chip Roy, and Coinbase’s policy team voiced strong opinions on the need for holistic action and regulatory clarity.
